Charleston Gazette - April 20, 2008 - Phil Kabler - Lawsuit creates strange alliance

During her short-lived career as a Dominion-Post columnist, former delegate and current candidate Cindy Frich, R-Monongalia, frequently skewered Democrat members of the Monongalia delegation, particularly targeting Delegates Barbara Fleischauer and Alex Shook.

So it came as no surprise when a reader forwarded a fundraising letter from the Frich campaign, featuring these excerpts:

"One of Cindy's opponents is trying to become Mrs. Radical Supreme Court Justice, as she attempts to put the coal industry out of business." (Fleischauer is married to Supreme Court candidate Bob Bastress.)

"Another one of Cindy's opponents filed a class action lawsuit against BrickStreet, while his legislative committee was trying to gain subpoena power over private insurance companies, as they attempted to destroy the reformed privatized workers' compensation system." (Referring to Shook)

So far, though, she hasn't used snippets from her own columns in her campaign ads.
