Please stop intimidating folks who have a different opinion than you in attempts to silence them.
Today, my American Revolutionary War ancestors might be labeled right-wing extremists. The liberties they secured allowed Martinelli to use a homeland security department's politically motivated report to publicly ridicule, stigmatize and marginalize people who question or have a different view.
Before Guantanamo Bay is closed, can't we ask whose backyard will receive the released terrorists? After all, in his first week in office, Obama released the bomber of the USS Cole in Yemen who had killed 17 sailors.
Can I not be concerned when the new Department of Homeland Security secretary refuses to call acts of terrorism what they are, but releases a lexicon of terrorists in March 2009 defining Christians and Jews as terrorists? The latest DHS report directs police to watch these citizens and returning veterans.
After he weakened us around the world and committed troops to Afghanistan, where empires go to die, Obama released Bush "torture" memos. The Obama administration would not release corresponding memos which would reveal that enhanced interrogation methods used on terrorists protected Americans.
Then, the administration who wants to define Christians and Jews as terrorists attempts to criminally prosecute the prior administration for interrogating high value Muslim terrorists and decides to release photos depicting these interrogations.
After Obama placed U.S. soldiers in harm's way, he waffled to pressure from the ACLU and his political base to release photos of U.S. treatment of Muslim terrorists. The goal is to damage Republicans politically, but it will inflame the enemy, putting U.S. soldiers and civilians in greater danger.
Then, on April 27, for an Obama photo-op, Air Force One was flown low over New York City traumatizing New Yorkers. In a pre-Sept. 11 mentality, it seems as if this administration doesn't believe that acts of terrorism were ever committed against us.
Mr. Martinelli, keep targeting and ridiculing me; I will continue to question. Hopefully others will continue to question, despite intimidation. Since my letter was published, the author of those DHS reports has been "reassigned," a head rolled for the Air Force One debacle, and Obama has reversed position on release of the "torture" photos.
Don't let them silence us.
