Because the team needs more than the money from the state budget, Cindy Frich did not stop there. She helped with the first gun bash and other fundraisers to support the WVU Rifle Team. I know, I sold 450 tickets for that gun bash, including tickets to then President David Hardesty and half the Legislature ... mostly Democrats. Even after her defeat, Cindy escorted the new head coach to a black tie affair where she introduced him to the governor and legislators.
My daughter has chaired three NRA Foundation Banquets designed to raise money for the team. At no time was she political, because she does not want to hurt the team. Furthermore, these NRA Foundation events are not to be political. At the Oct. 2 banquet, these other delegates and a senator intimidated and tricked committee members into making the banquet political for their own promotion. My daughter dealt with the situation with as much grace and humility as possible, but fundraising decreased by the politicization.
It is laughable that these four delegates are being given credit for cutting the food tax in half. Across this state, Cindy Frich promoted elimination of the food tax. After backing the governor and Democrat legislators against the wall, they agreed to take one penny off. Republicans in the Legislature had to go to the Supreme Court to allow amendments to the bill to lower the food tax by more than one penny. But, ultimately the Democratic-controlled House of Delegates, for the first time in history, actually voted to not allow amendments to a bill! That is how much they supported eliminating the food tax.
My daughter had campaigned on paying down state debts and the billion dollar pay down was accomplished during her tenure. She also fought against the changes to higher education governance which led to our sorry state of affairs.
All these delegates have done in the past two years is legalize casino gambling and give themselves big pay raises. They tried to undo the reforms Cindy Frich accomplished which helped West Virginia's economy and they pushed legislation that would hurt small business.
Don't believe Caputo. Like our delegates, he voted to legalize hot spots. Maybe he is afraid of Frich because she has a record of standing up against corruption, cronyism and politics as usual.
Our delegates are indebted to Caputo and his cronies. Why do our delegates allow all the state road funds to go elsewhere? They have arranged for Monongalia County to receive a lower percentage for the next 30 years. Instead of us getting our fair share of road funds, they want you to open up your wallet and pay more fees.
